As a young New Zealander traveling the world after completing his building apprenticeship, Daniel Hickey thought he'd make a quick stop in Vancouver. He quickly fell in love with the city (and Candace), and decided to make it his new home. In 2013, Daniel decided to take his passions for building and for people, along with his construction training and experience, to start Hickey Construction. Run by the husband and wife team of Daniel and Candace, the passions that sprouted Daniel’s original business venture continue to be the driving forces behind what we do today. Raised in Aldergrove, Candace is a local through and through. After being enamored by big city life, Candace has found her peace, building a family and business right in her hometown! Her expertise in Customer Service & Operations Management makes her a formidable business manager. She loves to think outside the box and has a passion for discovering & implementing more efficient systems and new technologies. She is always striving for constant improvement and growth of our business.
Thomson is our in-house wrangler and a stellar construction manager. There are no horses and projects that he can’t handle! Thomson’s construction experience varies from labor for a general contractor as a young lad to custom framing and high-end home building. This variety of experience has provided Thomson with a versatile skill set that’s an asset in his role as Construction Manager. Outside of work, Thomson enjoys riding horses, golfing, fishing & hunting.
Taylor ‘The Finisher’ Drinkwater is not a wrestler but an attentive manager that leaves no detail behind. His keen eye for detail, craftsmanship, and creativity make him an ideal construction manager. Whenever he creates something custom-made and unique for our clients, his finished product always exceeds expectations! Taylor spent much of his childhood in the garage working on cars with his Dad, which remains one of his biggest passions today. He spends his spare time passing his knowledge & love for cars down to his young son.
